08.22.2022

Stinson LLP is excited to announce that Missouri Attorneys Christina Arnone, Bill Everding and Sarah Lintecum Struby have been selected as 2022 Up & Coming Attorneys by Missouri Lawyers Weekly. They were selected by judges, bar groups and fellow attorneys for their work, leadership and community service in the first 10 years of their practice.

Arnone represents businesses in disputes with their insurance companies. She has more than a decade of experience helping businesses navigate complex coverage disputes under all types of commercial insurance policies, including property and business interruption, general liability, employment practices and professional liability, product recall and contamination, directors and officers, pollution liability and cyber. Arnone also helps businesses manage risk by ensuring appropriate coverage during policy placement and at renewal, and with respect to contracts, leases and M&A transactions. Notably, she has also served as insurance counsel for creditors' committees in nine mass tort bankruptcies arising from clergy sexual abuse, helping to recover more than $250 million in insurance proceeds to date. Arnone serves as Chair of the Jackson County Children's Emergency Fund Executive Board, where she oversees funds that support programs and services benefitting youth under the supervision of the court system. Arnone has also served on the International Relations Council's Board of Directors since 2020, where she works to strengthen Kansas City’s global perspective through events that start conversations around global issues.

Everding counsels clients on intellectual property matters with a focus on patents. He recently led a team of Stinson attorneys in a patent suit to win a reversal of a preliminary injunction that barred his client from selling an important line of products. As part of this effort, Everding served as lead counsel for three inter partes review proceedings in front of the USPTO Patent Trial and Appeal Board and successfully invalidated the three patents that formed the basis for the preliminary injunction. Everding guides clients through all stages of patent acquisition and enforcement. He has obtained hundreds of thousands in infringement claims damages for his clients and has obtained patents for nationally awarded inventions. He is particularly skilled in identifying patentable inventions and developing strategies to protect them. Everding also helps clients with due diligence and other aspects of patent transactions, working to evaluate the scope and value of the associated IP assets.

Lintecum Struby represents clients in administrative negotiations with the Environmental Protection Agency and state governmental agencies, advising clients regarding their regulatory requirements, and litigating environmental claims, including cost recovery and contribution claims under the federal Superfund law. She has obtained summary judgment on CERCLA liability on behalf of a performing party group and has represented a client in a successful allocation in support of the performance of a $50+ million Superfund cleanup, including negotiation of cash-out settlements and performing party agreements. She has also served as chairperson of several potentially responsible party groups on environmental matters on the East Coast. In addition, Lintecum Struby advises clients on compliance and permitting under federal and state environmental laws and regulations. She serves on the Midwest Innocence Project Board of Directors where she works to further the organization's mission dedicated to the investigation, litigation and exoneration of wrongfully convicted people in the five-state region of Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska.

Arnone, Everding, Lintecum Struby and their fellow honorees will be recognized during a celebration on October 14, 2022.
