Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Selects Stinson Attorneys for 2022 Fellows and Pathfinder Program

Press Release
02.17.2022

Stinson LLP is pleased to announce that Partner Nicki Warr has been selected as a 2022 Fellow by the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD). Additionally, associates Ji Hyun (Jennifer) Kim and Erick Orantes have been selected for LCLD Pathfinders program.

Designed for diverse, high-potential mid-career attorneys, the Fellows program provides professional and personal development, relationship-building opportunities, and leadership training. Warr was selected for her demonstrated leadership skills, commitment to diversity and inclusion, community engagement efforts, and the impact she continues to make within the legal profession.

The Pathfinder Program is designed for diverse, high-potential early-career attorneys and provides them with tools to develop and leverage internal professional networks through relationship-building skills, foundational leadership skills and an understanding of career development strategies applicable to in-house and law firm practice.

"We are thrilled for this year’s group of Stinson participants," said Stinson's Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer Ann Jenrette-Thomas. "As we have seen from previous program participants, this is a rare opportunity to work with and learn from a select group of attorneys from diverse backgrounds who have been recognized for their potential as leaders in their organizations. We know Nicki, Jennifer and Erick will grow and thrive in their programs."

Warr's experience working on complex litigation and counseling matters spanning antitrust, consumer protection laws and intellectual property issues gives her a unique perspective that helps her find effective and efficient solutions for her clients. Much of Warr’s work focuses on new and emerging technologies and matters involving the intersection of intellectual property and antitrust law.

Kim leverages her international business development background to assist her clients on mergers and acquisitions and corporate and securities law matters. She represents privately-held and publicly-traded companies in a variety of industries, including energy, financial services, food and beverages, real estate investment trusts, technology and waste management.

Orantes is involved with a number of multimillion dollar commercial disputes and litigation and is a trusted expert in complex matters for a wide array of clients. His experience includes contract interpretations, commercial lease and real estate disputes, state and federal government investigations, immigration certification matters, nationwide class actions and mergers and acquisitions.  Orantes is also well-versed in esports and is a member of the firm's Sports & Recreation group. He takes pride in participating in a variety of pro bono matters, assisting Jackson County public defender cases, prisoner appeals in state and federal court and economically disadvantaged individuals with limited English-speaking abilities involving life insurance issues. Orantes is the 2022 Hispanic Bar Association President for the Greater Kansas City area.

LCLD is one of the nation's leading organizations promoting diversity and consists of more than 350 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners – the leadership of the profession – who have dedicated themselves to creating a truly diverse U.S. legal profession.
