A technology lawyer focused on helping clients leverage their knowledge capital, Tim offers clients a deep understanding of transactions and disputes involving technology development and licensing, and the intellectual property issues that underlie those disciplines.

Tim's experience in corporate law and commercial disputes informs his counsel in the areas of software, big data, cybersecurity, technology development, trademark clearance, protection and enforcement, as well as general commercial transactions such as product supply and distribution agreements. He offers clients a rare combination of practical experience and legal savvy to negotiate technology agreements, resolve disputes and protect foundational IP capital and products.

Experience

Tim develops strategies for the worldwide registration and protection of the trademark portfolios of well-known brands in industries ranging from professional sports teams to restaurants and hospitality, gifts and greeting cards, and tax preparers.

He negotiates and prepares a wide range of agreements for software and technology development, transfer, licensing and escrow, e-commerce, copyright, trademark and trade secrets, plus agreements for a wide range of technology transactions.

Tim's recent internet-related experience includes disputes about trademark rights and internet domain names, software development agreements, the development of interactive internet sites, and negotiation of website agreements.

His business trial experience encompasses a wide range of cases involving software development and licensing agreements, copyright, trademark and trade dress infringement and domain name disputes.

Tim has advised clients on technology transactions and related issues for over two decades. He is a frequent speaker and author on IP topics.
