Chuck Hatfield Named to Appellate Attorney "POWER LIST" for Second Year in a Row

Press Release
02.28.2022

Stinson Partner Chuck Hatfield has been named to Missouri Lawyers Weekly's "POWER LIST" for appellate attorneys for the second year in a row. The "POWER LIST" examines and recognizes Missouri's most powerful appellate attorneys who have defended or opposed notable jury verdicts and helped to set vital practices shaping the law.

Hatfield is one of Missouri's top lawyers on regulatory law, frequently putting him in front of the Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court. He is listed as lead counsel in more than 50 Missouri appellate reported opinions, including more than 20 decisions of the Supreme Court. He is particularly influential in shaping how proposed laws and constitutional amendments are presented to the public and regularly argues the constitutionality of laws passed by the state legislature. Hatfield's most recent and notable case is Doyle v. Tidball, which upheld the voter-approved ballot initiative to expand Medicaid for Missouri residents, a case that earned Hatfield a "Lawyer of the Year" recognition.

Hatfield has more than 25 years of experience litigating and negotiating high profile cases to help offer clients a broad and insightful perspective on Missouri's government and judiciary. He has handled more than 20 major cases before the Missouri Supreme Court, represented clients in Missouri's initiative process, writing proposed changes to Missouri law and litigating initiative petition, and regularly appears before trial and appellate courts at both state and federal levels.
