Missouri's 100 Most Powerful Attorneys Includes Stinson Partners

Stinson LLP Partners Kirk Doan, Chuck Hatfield, Paul Hoffmann and Jay Simpson have been named to the 2022 Missouri Lawyers Media Top 100 POWER List.

The Top 100 POWER list features the top 100 attorneys in Missouri who have been selected to one of the past 12 "POWER Lists," recognizing the state's most powerful attorneys within various practices of the law.

Doan, recognized on the health care law "POWER List," works with the business side of the health care industry, assisting clients in matters relating to practice acquisition, hospital contracting and construction, business operations and regulatory compliance. In addition to representing medical practice businesses, Doan represents physicians and surgeons, dentists and pharmacists. He is also a member of the firm's real estate and public finance practice group, focusing on leasing, commercial financing, loan closings, workouts, title examinations, zoning and foreclosures.

Hatfield, recognized on the appellate law "POWER List," has 25 years' experience litigating and negotiating high profile cases, primarily involving government action, to help offer clients a broad and insightful perspective on Missouri's government and judiciary. He has represented dozens of clients in Missouri's initiative petition process, writing proposed changes to Missouri law and litigating initiative petition and signature challenges, and frequently advises on election law.

Hoffmann, recognized on the bankruptcy law "POWER List," has a wealth of experience and extensive knowledge of bankruptcy law. His ability to manage complex litigation and deep experience with the alternatives available translates to creative solutions for his clients. Hoffmann has been continuously certified by the American Board of Certification in Business Bankruptcy Law since 1992, is a prior Chair of the Ad Hoc Advisory Committee for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Missouri and has been an Adjunct Professor of Secured Transactions at the University of Missouri- Kansas City School of Law since 2004.

Simpson, recognized on the tax law and estate planning "POWER List," has significant tax law experience, advising on all types of tax issues and a wide range of transactional and corporate governance issues, including acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, reorganizations and restructurings. He has a strong knowledge of state income, sales and property tax law, and represents clients in tax disputes with state and local taxing authorities.
