Kyle advises clients on environmental matters involving site acquisition, remediation, development, facility operations and business and real estate ventures. Drawing on experience with governmental programs and enforcement efforts, he develops compliance strategies designed to minimize environmental liability and support clients' business objectives.

Kyle helps clients navigate the environmental regulatory landscape by providing practical guidance on compliance obligations involving air, water, wetlands, hazardous waste, remediation and natural resources. He represents clients in diverse sectors, including manufacturing, energy, real estate, mining, chemical and petroleum storage and distribution, telecommunications, finance and lending.

Kyle develops creative solutions to environmental issues arising in business and real estate transactions, including acquisitions, redevelopment projects and facility development. He performs environmental due diligence, evaluates potential liability exposure and develops risk mitigation strategies to help clients make informed decisions. His experience includes defense of EPA and state enforcement actions, assisting with the redevelopment of Brownfield sites through voluntary cleanup and remediation programs, as well as using innovative remediation techniques and activity use limitations and controls.

Kyle also assists clients with environmental compliance matters, including obtaining construction and operating permits, responding to agency inspections and coordinating audits, investigations and responses under environmental laws. He works with environmental consultants and regulatory agencies to oversee the investigation and remediation of contaminated properties and navigate state voluntary remediation and underground storage tank insurance fund programs.

Kyle has substantial experience advising clients on the environmental aspects of data center and industrial facility development, having supported projects across multiple states. He helps clients navigate the environmental considerations that can impact project timelines and development strategies, including site assessments, permitting requirements, remediation needs and regulatory constraints. His experience includes coordinating Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and Phase II Investigations, evaluating issues involving wetlands, threatened and endangered animal species, cultural resources and air emissions, and advising on strategies to avoid or mitigate impacts to sensitive habitats and their natural resources. Kyle also assists clients in addressing community concerns and opposition related to industrial, energy and data center development.

Kyle serves as Co-Chair of the Environmental Practice Group and has environmental regulatory experience in more than 35 states and has experience working with the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), United States Fish & Wildlife Service (USFWS), and state environmental, wildlife, cultural resources and natural resources agencies. Formerly an environmental attorney for an international engineering company, Kyle managed environmental permitting and compliance for domestic and international electric generation facilities and other industrial projects.
