Chris advises corporate policyholders on pre-litigation and litigation coverage claims against their business insurers.

Chris draws on his extensive commercial litigation experience to pursue business insurance claims on behalf of policyholders. He has successfully resolved claims involving executive liability insurance policies, general liability insurance policies, and property insurance policies. Chris has also successfully resolved a number of other commercial litigation claims, including business tort claims, commercial real estate litigation, and product liability disputes in state and federal courts.

Chris has represented food manufacturers in various insurance claims seeking product contamination, product recall, and general liability coverage. He was also a member of a team that worked as insurance coverage counsel on behalf of an unsecured creditors committee and secured more than $150,000,000 in coverage under general liability insurance policies spanning several decades. Chris has worked with policyholders in a number of industries, including construction, education, energy, manufacturing, and telecommunications.

He has extensive experience in the real estate industry. He helped successfully resolve a commercial real estate developer's multi-million dollar property insurance claim resulting from a fire. He also defeated a developer's request for a temporary restraining order in state court, followed soon thereafter by a successful resolution of the dispute. And Chris advises REITs and other entities on contractual indemnification obligations and related issues.

Chris has also obtained summary judgment against all counts on behalf of a Missouri bank in a multi-million dollar equitable subrogation dispute against a borrower's surety companies. In addition to his commercial litigation practice, he maintains an active pro bono practice. Before joining the firm as a summer associate, Chris served as an intern with Kansas City's Death Penalty Litigation Clinic and worked for the Kansas Legislative Research Department.
