Stinson Welcomes Bankruptcy & Creditors' Rights Partner Maggie Burrus to New York Office

Stinson LLP is pleased to welcome Maggie Burrus as a partner in the firm's New York City office, where she joins the Bankruptcy & Creditors' Rights Practice Division. Her arrival further strengthens the firm's growing East Coast presence and expands its capabilities in complex restructuring and insolvency matters.

Burrus advises clients in sophisticated bankruptcy and insolvency matters, bringing a strategic and practical approach to Chapter 11 proceedings and related disputes. She advises clients through all stages of distressed situations, guiding clients through the strategic, procedural, and commercial considerations that arise in high-stakes insolvency matters. In addition to her restructuring practice, Burrus has significant experience handling complex commercial litigation and adversary proceedings in state and federal courts and arbitration forums.

Burrus has represented debtors, secured lenders, committees, equity holders and other stakeholders in restructuring matters spanning a range of industries, including cross-border logistics and e-commerce, data center and infrastructure services, energy and cryptocurrency-related enterprises. Her experience includes high-profile Chapter 11 proceedings, contested matters and complex disputes arising in insolvency contexts.

Burrus earned her J.D. from Washington and Lee University of Law and her B.A. from the University of South Carolina. She is admitted to practice in New York, the District of Columbia, Viriginia and West Virigina, as well as multiple federal district and appellate courts.
