Stinson Serves as Legal Counsel to EPR Properties in Regional Theme Park Portfolio Acquisition & Lease Arrangement
Stinson LLP served as legal counsel to EPR Properties in connection with its acquisition of a portfolio of six U.S. regional parks from Six Flags Entertainment Corporation, and the immediate lease of the parks to Enchanted Parks. The acquisition was a strategic increase in EPR's attractions properties and represents the company's largest acquisition since 2017.
The portfolio spans across five U.S. states, with a seventh park in Montreal, Quebec to be acquired in a separate transaction in the near term and leased to a different park operator. The transaction underscores EPR Properties' continued investment in large-scale experiential real estate assets across North America.
The Stinson team advising EPR Properties included partners Tom Smallwood and Patrick Respeliers, and attorneys Lauren Druessel and Ben Gamble. The team represented the client in negotiating the acquisition and master lease, and advising on real estate, securities, financing, intellectual property, tax, employment and general corporate matters.
Stinson's real estate and corporate finance attorneys provide strategic counsel on sophisticated transactions across regional and national markets, advising clients on acquisitions, development, financing and regulatory matters across a wide range of industries.
