Stinson LLP is pleased to welcome Phil Hof as of counsel in its Intellectual Property & Technology Division. Based in the firm’s St. Louis office, Hof focuses his practice on patent application preparation and prosecution, intellectual property-based transactions, and portfolio management.
Licensed to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Hof works closely with inventors and in-house counsel to guide applications through every stage of the patent process. His experience spans a wide range of industries, including medical devices, artificial intelligence, aerospace, automotive, computer software, flexible packaging, wireless communications and video conferencing. He regularly advises clients ranging from startups to large corporations.
"We’re excited to welcome Phil to our growing intellectual property team. His collaborative approach and ability to navigate complex patent matters make him a valuable resource for clients in St. Louis and across the firm," said Michael Kaplan, managing partner of the St. Louis office.
Before joining Stinson, Hof worked for a St. Louis-based patent firm where he focused on patent application preparation and prosecution in mechanical, electrical and chemical arts. He holds a J.D. from the Chicago-Kent College of Law and a B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Missouri. He is admitted to practice law in Illinois and Missouri.
