With a background in securities, banking and compliance, Zane is an experienced litigator representing financial services firms and others in highly-regulated industries. Clients seek his advice on emerging legal issues to learn how existing frameworks will apply to new industries, such as legalized cannabis. Zane's wealth of experience and his keen interest in developing areas of law make him a highly sought-after commentator, writer, speaker, and lecturer.

Zane represents individuals and companies in high‑stakes litigation involving business and investment disputes, banks and other financial institutions, cannabis investors, and others. He handles class actions and cases involving fraud, mismanagement and regulatory compliance. Additionally, Zane serves on the firm's Pro Bono Committee.

Experience

Zane recently prevailed for a bank client in the Colorado Court of Appeals, winning the case, as well as attorneys' fees and costs.

His deep background in financial services litigation is a boon when it comes to high-stakes litigation, including consumer class action defense, regulatory compliance, and actions involving the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).

Zane advises clients in the financial services, real estate, tech, health care, and agriculture industries on regulatory, compliance and litigation related to state‑licensed marijuana-related businesses. He has designed and implemented marijuana and hemp financial programs for banks and credit unions across the country, assisted FinTech companies in navigating cannabis regulations, represented licensed marijuana companies and individuals in litigation and regulatory actions, and has been instrumental in helping the industry develop.
