Bill puts his talent and dedication to work representing clients in complex litigation including class actions, corporate governance and shareholder disputes, and financial services matters.

Bill’s experience runs the gamut from internal investigations to bet-the-company litigation. He regularly defends insurers and other businesses in complex, multistate class actions. Business owners and shareholders rely on him to protect their interests in intra-corporate disputes with millions or billions of dollars at stake. And he has extensive experience representing banks and other financial institutions in major lending litigation. Regardless of the matter, Bill’s creativity, intellect, and unrelenting dedication to achieving the best result for his clients set him apart.

Insurance Litigation

He has represented insurers in numerous “labor-depreciation” class actions challenging the insurers' methods of determining the actual cash value (ACV) of damaged property.

He has successfully defended property insurers in class actions challenging the calculation of co-insurance penalties.

He represented a reinsurance broker in the prosecution of claims for conversion, tortious interference and civil theft arising from the diversion of brokerage for reinsurance placements, leading to a $3.9 million verdict after a one-week jury trial.

Corporate Governance

He represented business owners and shareholders in bet-the-company corporate-governance, shareholder-oppression, and breach-of-fiduciary-duty cases.

Bill conducted numerous corporate internal investigations in response to whistleblower complaints and allegations of officer misconduct.

Business & Financial Litigation

He defended businesses in consumer protection and breach of warranty class actions relating to allegations of product defects, false advertising, and deceptive trade practices.

Bill represented more than a dozen lenders in complex lawsuits brought by large purchasers of mortgage loans, seeking indemnification in connection with the sale of hundreds of millions of dollars in mortgage loans to RMBS trusts and government sponsored entities.
