Overview

A registered patent attorney, Tim works tirelessly to protect his clients' intellectual property. He focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation and patent preparation and prosecution.

Tim has litigated trade secret and patent, trademark, and copyright infringement cases in state and federal courts throughout the United States. His experience includes challenging and defending the validity of patents in Inter Parte Review (IPR), Post Grant Review (PGR) and Covered Business Method (CBM) proceedings before the USPTO. 

With degrees in electrical engineering and computer engineering, he prepares and prosecutes patents in a variety of electrical, electronics, software and computer system technologies. Tim's practice also includes drafting and negotiating software licenses, patent licenses, trademark licenses, and non-disclosure agreements.

Throughout his career, Tim has secured, enforced, and defended patents in a variety of technologies, including computer operating system software, distributed computing software, cellular phone technology, medical and financial data storage and processing software, computer network technology, electrical controls, construction products and methods, and water craft.

Tim gained technical experience with electrical products, equipment, and controls prior to law school working as an electrical engineer in automotive manufacturing plants, power plants and a brewery.
