Scott is well-studied in the "art" of litigation and the skill of business.

Overview

Scott approaches each task with preparation, creativity, and tenacity. As first-chair trial counsel, Scott has won significant, high-profile, multimillion dollar jury verdicts involving patent infringement, service mark and trademark infringement, trade secret misappropriation, and breach of contract. He has also obtained attorneys’ fees and injunctions for his clients, including businesses of all sizes from Fortune 500 companies to local enterprises. Scott's cases involve a variety of technologies such as gambling software, food preparation methods, recreational products, and mechanical devices. Recognizing his litigation skills, Washington University School of Law invited him to serve as an adjunct professor. In this role, Scott teaches trademark litigation to upper-level law students and LLMs.

As a business advisor and registered U.S. patent attorney, Scott helps clients manage their patent portfolios during prosecution and provides strategic advice pertaining to portfolio development and enforcement. He also represents companies before the USPTO. Scott counsels entrepreneurs on how to navigate commercial contract issues related to intellectual property licensing and trade secret protection.

Scott leverages his technology and business expertise in the gaming industry where he counsels companies as they protect innovation and comply with the ever-changing regulatory landscape. Scott has experience working with gaming technology manufacturers and providers, gaming software companies, skills-based gaming companies, and independent testing laboratories.

Prior to his legal career, Scott obtained his M.B.A. and M.H.A. and taught finance to undergraduate students at the University of Missouri.
