Press Release
02.16.2022

Partner and Chair of Stinson's Real Estate and Public Finance Division, Todd LaSala, has been named to Midwest Real Estate News' Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame, which honors and recognizes individuals from Midwestern states who through their extensive contributions have made the real estate industry what it is today.

LaSala, who consistently demonstrated commitment to the real estate profession, dedication, hard work and talent during a tough real estate market, joins other real estate professionals in this year's hall of fame class, including architects, brokers, contractors, developers and lenders.

For nearly 25 years, LaSala has worked in commercial real estate and development, with an emphasis on public-private partnerships. He is known for representing municipalities and developers in high-profile development and redevelopment projects in the Kansas City metropolitan area and nationwide and works to grow local communities through innovative projects. LaSala's more notable real estate and economic development projects include the development of Village West in Kansas City, Kansas, which encompasses the Legends Shopping Outlet, a retail and entertainment district, Children's Mercy Park, the home stadium for Sporting KC, and the related Pinnacle project – the home for the U.S. Soccer National Education Center.

Currently, LaSala is working on Kansas City's largest mixed-use project, Bluhawk, a southern Overland Park, Kansas project which plans to develop and build a 3,500 seat arena, an indoor multi-sport athletic complex, over 600,000 square feet of retail, hotel and commercial space, along with office and multi-family housing.

"I love making deals. I like complicated and challenging deals best of all," LaSala said. " I've got genuine enthusiasm and almost unlimited energy to devote to my deals. I'll work as hard as it takes and usually find a way to make it fun for those working on a deal with me."

In addition to being selected to this year's Midwest Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame, LaSala was selected to membership in the American College of Real Estate Lawyers in 2014. He was listed in the 2006-2015 editions of Chambers USA Guide: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business for Real Estate and is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional, recognized by the U.S. Green Building Council.
