Phelps Discusses Tampa Bay’s Growth and Real Estate Market in Invest: Tampa Bay

Phelps was interviewed by Invest: Tampa Bay, an annual economic report published by Capital Analytics Associates, about Stinson’s rapid expansion in Florida, discussing the structural factors driving the region’s sustained growth and how legal strategy is evolving alongside capital and development trends.

Phelps pointed to Tampa’s collaborative business culture when asked what drew him to Florida after spending much of his career in Minneapolis. He describes Tampa Bay as a growing, young and vibrant business community, with corporate expansion, infrastructure investment and entrepreneurial activity across multiple sectors.

"Both domestic and international investors view the region as a stable and attractive market for development," Phelps said, adding that the legal work tied to these projects has become more complex as capital remains selective, projects become more multifaceted, and regulatory considerations require careful navigation.

The interview covers Stinson’s growth in the Tampa Bay area since opening its first Florida office three years ago with five attorneys. The office has since more than tripled in size across a broad range of practice areas, with a goal of growing to approximately 35 to 40 attorneys within the next few years.
