Stinson LLP Partners Ed Caldie and Robert Kugler are featured in an interview with Survivor Space highlighting the urgency for survivors of abuse within the Baltimore Archdiocese to file claims before the May 31, 2024, deadline. The attorneys say filing a claim by the deadline is crucial for survivors seeking acknowledgment and atonement.

In "Critical Deadline Approaches for Abuse Survivors of Baltimore Archdiocese," Caldie and Kugler emphasize the significance of the bankruptcy process in holding the Archdiocese accountable for past wrongs and ensuring the protection of survivors in future proceedings. The attorneys stress that survivor participation is vital to the success of these proceedings, as it allows for fairness and legitimacy of the case and for a comprehensive understanding of the extent of the abuse and its lasting impact.

The attorneys also noted the unprecedented opportunity for survivors to directly address the bankruptcy court in this case with impact statements on April 8, 2024, sharing their experiences and perspectives with the court and the Archbishop. Eight more survivors presented their statements on May 20.

The attorneys urge survivors to talk with legal counsel as soon as possible if needing to file a claim before the deadline. They also encourage survivors to visit www.baltimoresurvivors.com for information about filing a claim as well as for updated case information and other resources.
