A proven trial advocate, Zach has served as lead associate in multiple multi-week trials and obtained a favorable jury verdict as first-chair counsel. He brings that trial-focused perspective to every matter he handles, ensuring litigation strategy is built from the start with the courtroom in mind.
Zach's clients span a wide range of industries, including software and technology, gaming, consumer products, retail, media, and internet services. He has handled high-stakes matters involving complex technical subject matter and multimillion-dollar claims and has extensive experience taking and defending depositions of fact witnesses, corporate representatives, and experts. Zach regularly briefs and argues dispositive and discovery motions in federal courts nationwide.
Zach also represented consumer products, retail, and internet services clients in data privacy matters, including the successful defense and resolution of consumer data breach class actions. He is a member of Stinson's firm-wide artificial intelligence task force, advising on AI-related legal developments and working to integrate emerging tools into litigation practice.
Prior to joining Stinson, Zach served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Missouri Attorney General's Office, where he was lead counsel in more than 50 civil matters defending state agencies and employees on breach of contract, constitutional, negligence, discrimination, and class action claims. He obtained a favorable defense verdict as first-chair counsel in a five-day jury trial on employment discrimination claims and regularly argued dispositive motions and conducted depositions across a broad federal and state docket.

Served as lead trial associate in a $40M+ trademark and contract dispute, overseeing all aspects of litigation strategy and pre-trial preparation and securing a favorable pre-trial settlement for the client.
Secured complete summary judgment victory in federal trademark litigation, resolving all claims in client's favor and eliminating the need for trial.
Trade Secret Misappropriation Litigation
Representing plaintiff in multimillion-dollar trade secret litigation under the Defend Trade Secrets Act in the Northern District of California, alleging that a major health system improperly shared client's proprietary patient care software platform—including its confidential architecture and core trade secrets—with a competitor to enable reverse-engineering and development of a rival application.
