Rob offers significant experience in commercial real estate transactions, commercial real estate finance, renewable energy project finance, commercial leasing and secured lending.
Rob is committed to pro bono work, where he has represented clients in matters ranging from structuring and implementing a fund to inject capital into underserved St. Louis, Missouri neighborhoods, developing a loan program to restore homes in St. Louis, Missouri, defending indigent clients against criminal charges as part of the Missouri Coalition for the Right to Counsel, researching human rights issues, providing general counsel to nonprofits, and assisting individuals form and operate for profit and nonprofit businesses.
Experience
Commercial Real Estate
Represents property owners, developers, investors, and lenders in the purchase, sale, financing, development and leasing of commercial properties all over the country, including acquisition and development of retail, multi-family residential, and mixed-use properties, together with office and retail leasing.
Represents lenders on construction and term financing of office buildings, multi-family apartment complexes, warehouses, distribution centers, mixed use commercial assets, marinas and cannabis facilities.
Rob has significant experience representing a national lender that specializes in lending to cannabis related businesses, including structuring the deals and collateral packages.
Renewable Energy - Real Estate and Finance
Serves as lead counsel to national renewable energy lenders in financing the construction of utility grade renewable energy generation projects ranging from 1MW to 20MW in size, as well as energy-efficiency projects, located in New York, California, Illinois, Oregon, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Florida, Maryland, Hawaii and American Samoa totaling over $250 million in financing. The lender finances lenders finance a mix of utility scale and community solar projects, including ground mount and rooftop projects.
Represents clients in project level construction financing, including the structuring of the projects for tax equity investment and debt finance.
Negotiates leases and site control documents for renewable energy projects by representing landlords and renewable energy developers.
Commercial Lending
Represents banks in financing business acquisitions and other general commercial financing including lines of credit for working capital, small and middle market mergers and acquisitions, and asset-based C&I loans.
