Preparation defeats complexity.

Overview

Clients succeed when their attorney understands the industry, the forum, and the case.  Joshua attacks complex cases across diverse industries and learns them inside out.  In the last year, he second-chaired a successful railroad arbitration that the arbitrators classified as among the most complex of their careers.  His understanding of railroading comes from frequently representing them in environmental, local government, and land use issues.

Joshua also handles environmental cases in other industries. In federal court, he handled expert discovery on the history of refinery regulation and the science of chemical fingerprinting. In state court, he filed amicus briefs on hotly contested issues of state and federal administrative law. In each case, Joshua’s thorough, efficient research helped uncover, demystify, and present the key issues. Whether arbitration, court, or agency, Joshua puts in the work to understand the case better than  his opponents.
