David brings strong leadership skills and extensive litigation experience to deliver solutions to his clients’ legal issues.
Overview
Clients value David’s experience with complex and often ground-breaking litigation matters. They count on him for disputes involving trusts and estates, health law and contracts. He has also helped to untangle disagreements between distributors and dealers and among shareholders.
David’s breadth of experience spans from handling billion-dollar family trust disputes to defending large software manufacturers in multi-district class actions. He has also successfully handled numerous federal and state court appeals for clients. David plays a key leadership role in the firm by serving on its board of directors and co-chairing a litigation division.
Experience
David assisted three individuals in litigation to confirm their status as beneficiaries to family trusts valued at more than $1 billion.
He created the protocol used to determine heirs of the late pop star Prince Rogers Nelson. The district court adopted the protocol, which was unanimously affirmed by the Minnesota Court of Appeals.
Setting legal precedent in Minnesota, he obtained the dismissal of all claims in a multi-count class action brought against one of the nation’s leading providers of funeral insurance.
David went to trial on behalf of a major software manufacturer in a consumer class action involving antitrust claims.
He obtained summary judgment for a hospital regarding a medical staff bylaws dispute. The Minnesota Court of Appeals affirmed the decision.
