Charles Nugent

Charles assists clients with a range of real estate and tax credit matters, including transactions involving development, financing and investment projects. He works with clients to navigate complex deal structures and advance projects that leverage tax credit and incentive programs.

In addition to his real estate and tax credit experience, Charles has worked with creditors, debtors, lenders and borrowers in bankruptcy proceedings and out-of-court workouts, providing insight into the financial and operational challenges that can impact development and financing transactions.

During law school, Charles gained valuable legal experience as a law clerk in the Tax Division of the Tennessee Office of the Attorney General, a judicial extern for Judge Jeffrey Usman of the Tennessee Court of Appeals and a legal extern for the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation.
