Two Stinson Partners Highlighted in Women's History Month Feature by Attorney at Law Magazine

Stinson LLP Partners Aimee Guzman Davenport and Sharon Markowitz are featured in an Attorney at Law Magazine article, "Women Lawyers Celebrate Women's History Month." The article highlights women attorneys who have made positive strides in the legal profession and established themselves as leaders and role models.

Davenport and Markowitz share their unique experience as women attorneys and how they support future generations of women attorneys achieve success. The attorneys also discuss challenges they have faced and overcome, and point to professionals who have inspired and influenced their legal careers.

"I seek out other young women of color who are developing their practice and I try to assist however I can," Davenport said. "I try to be accessible for young women in law and find ways to signpost the pitfalls before they reach them."

When asked about a powerful female mentor who has helped shape Markowitz's career, she said, "Sheva Sanders, a health care and life sciences partner at Stinson LLP, has been a great mentor to me. She knows her strengths, she leans into them, and she is not afraid to acknowledge them to others. She knows her weakness and is humble about them, but she doesn't beat herself up over them."

Davenport's practice involves an in-depth understanding of environmental administrative agencies and the legal authority under which they operate. She has over 20 years of experience in environmental, energy and administrative law matters, and enjoys helping clients deliberately assess risks so they can make smart decisions to expand and thrive.

Markowitz represents clients in a range of litigation matters – including class actions and high-exposure, complex litigation – and counsels clients on how to minimize their litigation risk.
