Stinson Receives 2026 Pro Bono Litigation Counsel Award from The Advocates for Human Rights
Stinson LLP has been named a recipient of the 2026 Pro Bono Litigation Counsel Award by The Advocates for Human Rights. The recognition highlights Stinson's longstanding commitment to pro bono service and advancing access to justice through strategic legal advocacy.
Founded in 1983, The Advocates is a Minneapolis-based international human rights organization that works to promote and protect human rights and reinforce the rule of law around the world.
The award was presented at The Advocates' annual Human Rights Awards Dinner on June 11 and recognizes the firm's contributions in representing the organization in The Advocates for Human Rights v. Todd Blanche, et al., a lawsuit defending public access to immigration courts around the country. The lawsuit alleges that limitations on courtroom observation and public access to hearings violate federal regulations and threaten the transparency and accountability that are essential to the fair administration of justice.
"We are deeply honored to receive this award from The Advocates for Human Rights," said Stinson Pro Bono Attorney Tim Sanders Szabo. "This recognition underscores the important role pro bono service plays in protecting fundamental rights and ensuring that critical legal issues can be heard in our courts."
Stinson maintains a robust pro bono program that provides legal assistance to underserved individuals and nonprofit organizations across the communities it serves. The firm's pro bono efforts are spearheaded by the firm's pro bono committee and implemented by Pro Bono Counsel Katie Cronin, with Pro Bono Attorney Tim Sanders Szabo overseeing the firm's pro bono immigration work.
