Stinson Adds New Partner in NYC, Expands Office Space and Reach of Real Estate and Finance Services
Stinson LLP is pleased to welcome real estate and finance Partner Criston E. Cicala to the firm. He joins Stinson's New York office, which recently relocated to a larger space to accommodate the firm's growth. Prior to joining Stinson, Cicala served as the New York office managing partner of a boutique law firm.
With over two decades of experience in the legal profession, Cicala's multifaceted practice is focused on providing corporations, financial institutions and investment funds, real estate developers, media companies and entrepreneurs with practical and strategic legal advice and counsel.
"We are so pleased to have Cris joining us in this robust market, further allowing our firm to provide high-value client service while increasing our real estate footprint," Stinson's Real Estate & Public Finance Practice Division Chair Todd LaSala said. "Cris' wealth of experience with private equity and real estate development and the genuine enthusiasm he devotes to artful deal-making will be incredibly beneficial to clients with operations in New York and other markets."
Cicala regularly handles matters involving real estate finance, capital markets, trade and structured finance, private equity, banking, mergers and acquisitions, and securities issuance and regulation. He has extensive experience with cross-border matters, involving Latin American and European interests, and has represented many of the largest financial institutions and corporations in Latin America and Europe in their U.S. dealings. Cicala is also a former principal investor and advisor in both private equity and real estate matters, providing him the unique perspective of having played a lead role in both the acquisitions and dispositions of assets, as well as having been involved in the day-to-day management of both real estate and corporate ventures.
"Stinson is a highly acclaimed and accomplished firm with substantial domestic and international reach, filled with talented and distinguished legal professionals that are dedicated to providing clients with innovative, hands-on legal services," Cicala said. "The opportunity to work within a larger platform and deliver such extensive resources to clients is exciting. It's an ideal fit, and I'm extremely excited for this next chapter."
Outside of his practice, Cicala allocates his time to the intersection of art and cultural awareness, providing pro bono legal services for Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts. Cicala is also involved with the Legal Aid Society of New York City and the Legal Aid Society of Miami-Dade County.
