Law360 Profiles McTyre on Move to Stinson and Renewable Energy Market Outlook

Press Release
07.07.2026

Stinson LLP Partner Nicolas McTyre was profiled in Law360 in an article examining his move to the firm and his perspective on developments shaping the renewable energy sector. In the interview, McTyre discussed both his decision to join Stinson and the broader market forces influencing renewable energy project development and investment activity.

McTyre said he was drawn to Stinson because of its collegial culture and the strength of its nationally recognized energy platform. "And really more specifically, I've been really impressed by the strength of the renewable energy, environmental, transportation, international trade and FERC subgroups of the practice group, all of which are very well regarded," he said.

Beyond the firm itself, McTyre also pointed to shifting policy dynamics as a key driver of current activity in the renewable energy sector, noting that changes to federal tax credit frameworks under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act are influencing the types of projects currently moving forward in the market.

He added that those market dynamics intersect with his approach to client service, which is shaped in part by his prior in-house counsel experience. That background, he said, informs how he evaluates the relationship between legal advice and business decision-making in project development. "That last experience is really the defining client-side, client-focused experience, which I think has really enhanced my view of how legal counsel can effectively add value to business decisions," he said.

McTyre advises clients on renewable energy and other infrastructure projects in the energy sector across all stages of development, financing, construction and operations, from early planning and commercial contracting to ongoing operational and compliance considerations. His work spans solar, wind, battery storage and other energy assets.
