Law360 Highlights Ye's Lateral Move to Stinson in DC

Stinson LLP Of Counsel Fangyu (Fiona) Ye is featured in a Law360 article, "Stinson Adds Corporate Atty From Bailey Glasser In DC."

The article features insight into Ye's corporate and securities law practice, her former practice in China and her interest in pursuing a lateral move to Stinson.

Ye says she was drawn to moving her practice to Stinson because of Partners Steve Higgins and Marc Weintraub. Her decision to join the firm became easier when Stinson opened a new office in downtown Tampa, Florida, with Higgins and Weintraub. "When Marc shared his reasons for joining Stinson, it really helped me make the decision to join," she said.

Ye was born in China and started her legal career there. She notes that her experience practicing law overseas continues to help shape her work with matters involving cross-border transactions and foreign investments. In addition, she details her decision to pursue a corporate and securities law practice, because it's less-adversarial than litigation. "Even when attorneys are representing different sides, like in M&A, they have the same goal: to close the transaction," she said.

Ye also discusses some of the challenges she faced moving to a new country and studying law again at an American university.

Ye, who is located in Stinson's Washington, DC, office, is one of many who recently joined the firm in DC, including Partners Jeetander Dulani and Kim Larsen and Of Counsel Bill Kearney.

Her practice at Stinson will continue to focus on representing domestic and international business entities on mergers and acquisitions matters, securities matters and a range of other general corporate work.
