Labor and Employment Partner Conway Featured in Minnesota Lawyer's 'Breaking the Ice' Series

Stinson LLP Partner Amy Conway is featured in Minnesota Lawyer’s “Breaking the Ice” series, highlighting her pro bono work with the Children’s Law Center of Minnesota and her broader commitment to access to justice in her labor and employment practice.

For Conway, volunteering with the Children’s Law Center of Minnesota has been central to her efforts to expand access to legal services through her pro bono practice. She has represented children and youth in emotionally complex matters for more than 15 years, an experience she said has shaped both her perspective and her approach to client work.

She also discussed how that experience helped prepare her for pro bono work in immigration law during Operation Metro Surge in Minnesota, despite not having prior experience in the area.

“With everything that happened with Operation Metro Surge, I had an opportunity to do some immigration work, which I had not done,” Conway said. “The willingness of my firm and the legal community as a whole to learn something new and ensure the process is fair is critical for the system to work and reminded me of why we do this.”

In her labor and employment practice, Conway advises clients on the new Minnesota Paid Leave law and handles workplace investigations and disputes. She noted in the feature that investigations work, where she serves as a fact finder, is among her most active and engaging areas of practice, particularly as disputes increasingly involve issues related to LGBTQ+ rights and religious accommodations.

Conway guides clients through complex workplace issues, managing risks inherent to navigating all facets of the employment relationship. She advises clients on equal pay, discrimination, harassment, and employee relations matters, and leads internal investigations into complaints and audits of employment practices.
