Deputy Managing Partner Allison Murdock's election as Stinson's next managing partner and her plans for the future of the firm were highlighted in a recent feature by The American Lawyer. Allison has served as deputy managing partner for the past 10 years, and will begin her term as firm managing partner in July 2021.

In the article, Allison spoke about her plans for growth across the firm as an essential part of meeting client needs and firm strategic planning going forward.

“I think it’s very important for a new managing partner to be looking at a strategic plan and the strategic planning process in any event. It just so happens that, in this instance, the timing coincides with the life cycle of our other strategic plan,” she said. “We’ve got a lot of clients with needs on different coasts. I’m sure at least a presence on the coasts will be a part of what we’re looking at, and where exactly, whether it’s east or west, has yet to be determined. That’s something I would want to talk to our board about.”

In addition to her current role, Allison has served on the firm's board of directors since 2003. Prior to serving as deputy managing partner, she chaired one of the firm’s business litigation divisions, and previously chaired the firm's associate evaluation and associate development committees. Allison was a leading trial attorney in trust and estate litigation focused on defending corporate fiduciaries against claims of fraud, negligence and breach of fiduciary duty arising from the creation and administration of trusts.
