CLE: Understanding and Improving Gender Equity in the Legal Profession
Despite women comprising fifty percent of law school classes and forty-five percent of associate ranks, women represent only twenty percent of partners in the profession. Focusing on the attrition of women from the legal profession is one issue that must be better understood in order to have a firm and a profession that is wholly inclusive of the talent from women attorneys, enabling us to provide better client service. Attendees will learn the top reasons why women leave law firms; common biases women attorneys face with male attorneys, other women attorneys as well as the biases they experience with staff. Participants will learn various strategies to help support the retention and advancement of women attorneys.
This session, presented by Hilarie Bass, Esq., attorney, public speaker and founder of the Bass Institute of Diversity and Inclusion, will focus on the inclusion issues faced by women attorneys in the legal profession. Afterwards, we'll announce the Diversity & Inclusion Champion Award.
