Overview
A commercial business attorney and litigator, Roddy advises on public and private contract issues, bid protests, claims and appeals, as well as commercial disputes. He leverages extensive litigation experience and a common sense business approach to help clients across a diverse array of industries navigate government contacts disputes and commercial litigation to achieve business outcomes.
Roddy advises government contractors on issues relating to municipal, state and federal government procurements, contracts and subcontracts and helps in their pursuit of defense of federal, state and local bid protests, claims and appeals before the Government Accountability Office, Boards of Contract Appeals, and Court of Federal Claims. He also handles commercial litigation disputes and provides general business advice on a variety of contractual, compliance, and risk management issues. Roddy has represented a wide range of industries including construction, real estate, energy, technology, research and engineering, aerospace and defense.
Experience
Roddy was first-chair trial attorney for a Fortune 500 company in a dispute before the Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals.
He has assisted numerous entities in pursuing or defending against the protests of several federal contract procurements before the Government Accountability Office (GAO).
Roddy guided a Fortune 500 globalization and technology company through the protest of a municipal contract procurement.
Roddy advised a small business contractor on affiliation, joint venture, and teaming issues to position it for future awards.
Roddy counseled a multinational corporation on novation issues associated with the acquisition of three companies.
Roddy has assisted several clients in analyzing potential organizational conflicts of interest and developing effective mitigation plans.
He assisted a leading IT security consulting firm in drafting and negotiating master service agreements, statements of work, other contractual agreements.
Roddy counsels general contractor construction companies, real estate investors and developers, and subcontractors with matters relating to business and entity formations, financing, master service and subcontractor agreements, corporate governance, teaming agreements, government contracting, compliance, and risk management.
When disputes arise, Roddy also defends such entities, ranging from custom residential developers up to Fortune 500 general contractors, in public contract claims and appeals, breach of contract disputes, construction defect claims, fraud, and mechanic's liens.
