He has deftly handled claims involving construction defects, payment claims, insurance coverage and subrogated insurance interests, and tirelessly works toward the best and most economically efficient outcomes for his clients.

Nick has advised clients on preparing and modifying contracts and related insurance requirements to best protect their interests and ensure that construction projects run smoothly and efficiently as possible. He routinely speaks and writes on trends, decisions and developments in construction law in Minnesota and other jurisdictions, and advises clients on how those changes can affect ongoing projects and future risk assessments.

He has extensive experience in all aspects of commercial litigation, and is admitted in state, federal and appellate courts to help provide effective counsel for disputes from service to appeal.

Nick represents general contractors in payment and construction defect disputes, and recently assisted a contractor to defend against multimillion dollar breach of contract and delay claims raised by a municipality.

In addition, Nick has significant experience representing clients involved in residential construction, and has helped those clients protect their interests and obtain favorable judgments in disputes over construction defects, earnest money deposits, and breaches of contract in lawsuits and binding arbitration brought in multiple venues.

Nick represents developers and companies in payment and breach of contract disputes, and recently defended both a private developer and a major state agency in separate complex payment disputes relating to cost-plus-fee contracts.
