Overview

Nick represents construction professionals, developers and technology companies in courtrooms across the country helping protect their interests in a variety of construction, breach of contract and property damage disputes. He has deftly handled claims involving construction defects, payment claims, insurance coverage and subrogated insurance interests, and tirelessly works toward the best and most economically efficient outcomes for his clients.

Nick has advised clients on preparing and modifying contracts and related insurance requirements to best protect their interests and ensure that construction projects run smoothly and efficiently as possible. He routinely speaks and writes on trends, decisions and developments in construction law in Minnesota and other jurisdictions, and advises clients on how those changes can affect ongoing projects and future risk assessments.

Experience

Nick has first-chair trial experience and has served on trial teams on multimillion dollar, multi-week bench and jury trials in Minnesota, Illinois and Missouri. He has extensive experience in all aspects of commercial litigation, and is admitted in state, federal and appellate courts to help provide effective counsel for disputes from service to appeal.

Nick represents general contractors in payment and construction defect disputes, and recently assisted a contractor to defend against multimillion dollar breach of contract and delay claims raised by a municipality.

In addition, Nick has significant experience representing clients involved in residential construction, and has helped those clients protect their interests and resolve countless disputes over construction defects, earnest money disputes, and breaches of contract in mediation and binding arbitration actions in multiple venues.

Nick represents developers and companies in payment and breach of contract disputes, and recently defended a payment services company against claims from a software company in a licensing dispute.
