Katie focuses her practice on intellectual property and related business disputes including breach-of-contract, employment non-competes, business torts, false advertising and fraud. Her cases involve patents, trademarks, copyrights, false advertising, and trade secrets in multiple industries and technologies including software and the Internet, medical devices, and consumer goods. She handles complex IP and commercial lawsuits and leads litigation teams in courts nationwide. Katie is a strategic litigator and strong courtroom advocate who achieves successful results for clients.

After law school, Katie clerked for The Honorable James M. Rosenbaum, then Chief Judge for the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota.

Represented a technology company accused of trade dress infringement, copyright infringement, and false advertising by competitor based on our client’s industry-changing product and achieved favorable settlement.

Represented various companies of all sizes accused of patent infringement by non-practicing entities, especially for software and Internet-based patents, and negotiated favorable results.

Represented a small Internet-based business accused of copyright infringement based on marketing materials and achieved a favorable settlement and dismissal.

Defeated a $20 million fraud claim after week-long arbitration hearing.
