Katie’s experience both in and out of the courtroom helps her develop legal strategies to achieve her clients' business objectives.

Experienced in representing clients in state and federal court, Katie has worked on a wide range of business and commercial litigation issues. She brings a well-rounded perspective to her litigation practice, having assisted on a myriad of matters, including complex contract disputes, insurance coverage disputes, class action defense, business torts and unfair competition, aviation defense, employment discrimination defense and product liability defense.

Katie works collaboratively with others at Stinson at all stages on cases large and small, including fact investigation, initial pleadings, discovery, motions practice, settlement negotiations, alternative dispute resolution (both mediation and arbitration), trial preparation, pre-trial and post-trial briefing, post-judgment proceedings and appellate practice. She is often called upon to lead large-scale document collection and review projects, performing tasks such as custodian interviews and assessment of electronically-stored information (ESI).

Katie was the lead associate on a multi-million dollar complex commercial arbitration for one of the country’s largest packaged food companies.

Katie was the lead associate on several product liability actions involving one of the country’s largest suppliers of LP gas (propane).

Katie is the lead associate representing one of the country’s largest telecommunications companies in an ongoing private arbitration concerning the valuation of right of way to lay fiber optic cable along a railroad’s property.

She has represented an aircraft manufacturer on matters concerning product liability, intellectual property, and complex contract interpretation issues.

She also has represented a number of clients in interpleader actions, designed to allow courts to determine the true recipient of funds at issue while insulating her clients from liability related to paying the funds.

She recently represented a client seeking relief under the Lanham Act and Missouri common law based on the defendants' unauthorized use of client's product in infomercial.

She also recently assisted in obtaining a favorable settlement for one of her clients, a third-party entangled in contentious post-judgment garnishment proceedings.

Katie has served as lead associate on class action lawsuits involving the constitutionality of pre-paid debit card programs.
