Joe provides crucial support to clients in various industries on a wide array of matters including general business transactions, securities matters and mergers & acquisitions.
Joe combines his work experience with his legal and business education to focus on counseling businesses, startups, entrepreneurs and investors, including private equity fund formation and capital raising. Over the past few years, his practice has centered on emerging technologies, representing clients in blockchain, cryptocurrency and artificial intelligence, in addition to building upon his esports and gaming practice.
Joe came to Stinson from a large international law firm. Prior to working for that firm Joe worked as a Regulatory Compliance Associate for Forex Capital Markets. While at FXCM, Joe gained extensive experience handling various financial regulatory matters pertaining to both domestic and international regulatory bodies. He received his law degree from Western Michigan University, Cooley Law School with a concentration in International Business Law. While at WMU, he was actively engaged in pro bono activities, such as Service to Soldiers, a program that provided pro bono legal advice and estate plans for military members scheduled to be deployed overseas. He also competed in several Moot Court competitions and he was selected to compete in the prestigious Jessup International Moot Court Competition in Chicago. Lastly, during law school, Joe clerked for a prominent Oil & Gas attorney and managing partner for a law firm in Lansing, Michigan.
Joe is an active member of the State of Texas, the Dallas Bar Association, the Dallas Volunteer Attorneys Program and the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers. Beyond Joe's involvement with the various legal associations, he is also a mentor for various organizations including University of North Texas Law School, University of Texas Dallas Enactus program, and Stadia Ventures, a sports technology accelerator. He grew up in Oley, Pennsylvania, a small town just outside of Philadelphia. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI. While at JWU, he was member of the nationally ranked Men's Volleyball Team and various other student organizations. Upon graduating from JWU, he pursued his Master's Degree in Business Administration from Alvernia University in Reading, PA.
Advised and assisted with structuring Security Token Offerings for several clients, which included a Hollywood Entertainment Group and an Energy Company.
Advised and assisted with structuring a $50 million Energy Fund for a Merchant Bank.
Drafted a Legal Opinion for an international esports company on the State and Federal Laws in support of our client’s application as a game of skill merchant for a payment processor.
Represented several startups in blockchain, cryptocurrency, esports, and other emerging technologies with structuring, formation of their business, capital raising, as well as, providing ongoing legal counsel.
Assisted and Advised a private equity group with the structuring and formation of a $7.5 million real estate fund.
Represented a group of investors with the structuring and formation of a Sports Complex, as well as, provide ongoing legal counsel.
