Jeannie blends her experience in life sciences and patent law to prepare and prosecute patent applications and protect clients’ valuable intellectual property assets. Jeannie also counsels clients on all aspects of patentability, invalidity, freedom-to-operate and other due diligence issues and helps prepare non-infringement and invalidation opinions.

Experience

Jeannie advises on patentable matters relating to DNA, RNA, proteins, gene therapy, antibodies, biologics, pharmaceuticals, drug delivery, drug conjugates, medical and research diagnostic assays, biomarkers, molecular cloning, protein expression, cell culture and development, immunohistochemistry, transgenic oils, transgenic plants, biofuels, nanotechnology, microfluidics, skin science, absorbent materials, food science, adult and pediatric nutritionals and microencapsulation.

Other subject areas within her purview include solar panels, electrochemical cells, hydrogen generator cells and fuel cells.

Jeannie guides clients in post grant proceedings including Inter Partes Review and Post Grant Review.

She counsels on patent and FDA strategy under the Drug Price Competition and Patent Term Restoration Act (Hatch-Waxman) and the Biologics Price Competition and Innovation Act of 2009.

Devoted to advancing and protecting scientific advances in life sciences, Jeannie frequently presents and writes for legal, business and industry organizations.
