Overview

Jason advises managed care organizations, management services organizations and other clients in the health care space on regulatory and transactional matters. He is well-versed in the regulatory issues shaping the next generation of health care, such as those arising out of value-based reimbursement, telemedicine, and narrow-network insurance products.

Jason has deep experience advising health plans operating in a variety of market segments, including the individual, group, Medicare and Medicaid markets. He helps management services organizations navigate corporate practice of medicine and fee-splitting prohibitions and the myriad compliance issues impacting the evolving health care industry. He provides a full range of regulatory counsel on state and federal laws and regulations and negotiates complex agreements to get favorable outcomes for his clients.

Experience

Jason has helped numerous management services organizations manage risks as they have scaled their businesses.

He has assisted vendors and customers in negotiating a variety of health care agreements, from garden variety vendor contracts to complex agreements, such as those involving capitation or other forms of value-based reimbursement.

Jason has provided interim general-counsel services to companies in the health care industry, gaining a greater understanding of the needs of in-house counsel and their internal clients.

He has helped clients navigate the risks attendant to a variety of health care transactions, such as joint ventures, acquisitions, and innovative marketing arrangements.

Jason has provided regulatory counsel on, among other laws, privacy and security laws (including HIPAA and state law), the Federal Anti-kickback Statute, the Stark law, the False Claims Act, the Affordable Care Act, state insurance law, and laws governing alternative risk transfer arrangements.

He is deeply involved in the firm's diversity and inclusion, mentoring and associate development efforts.
