One of Jamie's great strengths is her ability to craft client-driven solutions that balance business needs with litigation strategy.
Overview
Jamie's litigation practice focuses on the intersection of law and public policy. Her public and private sector clients benefit from her experience handling complex, products liability, personal injury, regulatory, constitutional, insurance and contract claims.
Jamie represents Fortune 50 companies, family businesses, municipalities, industry groups and state agencies. She's known for defending states across the country in lawsuits challenging the adequacy and funding of public education and has partnered with state education officials and legislators to draft school-funding statutes. Her extensive first-chair trial experience spans state and federal courts nationwide.
Experience
As a go-to litigator on the issue of school funding, Jamie successfully defended the State of New York and State of South Dakota in school funding litigation challenging the constitutional adequacy of public school funding. She is currently defending the State of New Mexico in similar litigation.
Jamie is equally adept at trying cases to verdict for both plaintiffs and defendants. She successfully earned a full defense verdict for a family-owned tractor trailer company in an asbestos exposure case, while at the same successfully representing a Fortune 50 company in a multimillion dollar breach of contract jury trial.
Recognized as a leading litigator, Jamie recently received a Women's Justice Award from Missouri Lawyers Weekly, was named a Missouri and Kansas Super Lawyers "Rising Star" and made Benchmark Litigation's "Under 40 Hot List."
