Eric focuses on complex business transactions, joint ventures, M&A and private securities financings. He draws on his strong experience in corporate and securities law to assist clients in assessing opportunities and completing a broad range of corporate, securities and business-related transactions. Eric helps clients compete in today’s fast-paced business markets.
Eric has significant experience working with private and public companies ranging from large national and global companies to entrepreneurial start-ups. He works with clients to develop winning acquisition, sale, negotiation and exit strategies and advises on finance options for such transactions. Eric’s knowledge of the technology, life sciences, commercial contracting, printing and manufacturing industries drives his ability to help clients achieve success in a variety of industries. Committed to finding practical solutions to the complex and varied issues faced by businesses today, Eric guides clients with responsive counseling, clear communication, efficient project management, and effective problem-solving skills.
Experience
Eric counsels on mergers, acquisitions, private debt and equity financings, joint venture structuring, complex commercial agreements, and technology licensing and transfers. His selected representations and newsworthy transactions include:
Represent numerous companies as outside general counsel, advising boards of directors and executive management.
Represented national supplier of motion and control systems in acquisition of regional provider of components and services.
Represented retail space manufacturer in $230 million private equity funded merger transaction.
Represented technology company in general corporate matters, technology licensing, and its $45 million strategic acquisition.
Represented a large multinational provider of work uniforms and equipment in its contracting and acquisition programs, advising on over $100 million in transactions to date.
Represented national electrical contractor in series of strategic acquisitions.
Represent privately held medical device and life sciences companies in technology licensing and private capital financings.
Before joining the firm, Eric developed his legal skills as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Paul A. Magnuson, then Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota.
