Emily focuses her practice on representing rail clients in regulatory compliance and a variety of intricate transactions such as line sales, acquisitions and abandonments, interline agreements and shipper contracts.
Emily has dedicated her legal career to helping her railroad clients thrive, practicing law at the intersection of private business and federal regulation. She is passionate about crafting innovative strategies to meet client goals and has counseled clients on matters involving regulatory compliance, labor and employment, transportation contracts and real estate.
Experience
Emily advises Stinson's railroad clients in complex transactions as well as regulatory matters before the Surface Transportation Board.
She also has extensive experience defending railroad clients in state and federal court, as well as administrative proceedings. She has obtained numerous defense verdicts for her clients in FELA and grade crossing claims. She has expanded her practice to include defending against retaliation claims against railroad clients pursuant to the Federal Railroad Safety Act.
