Anna leverages her considerable commercial litigation experience to help her clients mitigate risk in insurance, trade secret and employment matters.

Overview

A trusted partner for her clients, Anna guides clients through a variety of complex litigation matters, including trade secret misappropriation, insurance coverage, medical malpractice and non-compete issues. She has experience arguing and appealing Medicare and Medicaid cases across Kansas, as well as representing clients on both sides of insurance coverage cases.

Anna regularly advises employers on a wide variety of matters, including compliance issues, employee hiring and discharge practices, employee manuals and handbooks, and wage and hour compliance. She has also counseled on internal complaint response and investigation, disability accommodation, policy creation and leave issues. She has counseled clients in a variety of industries, including health care, banking, aviation, real estate and municipalities. Additionally, Anna frequently conducts sexual harassment trainings for staff and management-level employees.

Experience

Representing a correspondent bank in a six week jury trial in which the client was accused of breach of contract and misappropriation of trade secrets by a software company. Obtained a defense verdict in the case. Plaintiff originally sought damages of $55 million.

Representing an organization regarding insurance coverage under the Plant Variety & Protection Act.

Representing an insurance company on the interpretation of an insurance policy and receiving summary judgement in state court, which saved the company millions of dollars.

Representing a cosmetology school regarding trade secrets and non-compete issues.

Representing an IT company accused of misappropriation of trade secrets.

Representing medical providers in medical malpractice litigation.
