Minnesota Legislative Leadership Announces 2014 Committee Deadlines


The upcoming legislative session is expected to move quickly and have a narrow focus. The House and Senate will convene on February 25, and they must adjourn by the constitutional deadline of May 19.

Committee deadlines were announced today:

March 21—The first deadline is for committees to act favorably on bills in the house of origin.

March 28—The second deadline is for committees to act favorably on bills, or companions of bills, that met the first deadline in the other house.

April 4—The third deadline is for the House Committee on Ways and Means and the Senate Committee on Finance to act favorably on major appropriation and finance bills.
