Minnesota Projects $1 Billion Surplus
$492 Million Drop for November Forecast
Today Minnesota Management and Budget (MMB) released their February budget forecast, showing a lower budget surplus than was previously estimated. This news is accompanied by expectations from MMB of continued slowing of economic growth beyond the next biennium.
This announcement, along with the recent release of Governor Walz’s budget proposal, will strongly influence the legislature’s discussions around state priorities and appropriate revenue policies in the 2019 legislative session.
Visit the Minnesota Management and Budget website for more information about the revenue forecast announcement.
