Traci Bransford Honored with Reatha Clark King Award by VocalEssence
Stinson LLP is excited to announce that Partner Traci Bransford is being recognized with the Reatha Clark King Award for Excellence and Youth Motivation through the Cultural Arts by VocalEssence.
Named after VocalEssence WITNESS co-founder and pioneering African American scientist, educator and philanthropist Reatha Clark King, the award recognizes outstanding leaders in the entertainment field who are empowering young people through enticing choral music programing such as concerts, learning and engagement programs, contests and recording. Honorees are presented with an original work of art by local artist Ta-Coumba Aiken as a memento of the award at the annual VocalEssence WITNESS concert. Bransford was formerly on the Board of Directors for VocalEssence, Co-chair of the WITNESS Advisory Council and served as Vice President during her final term.
Bransford serves as Co-chair of Stinson's Entertainment and Media law group with decades of experience leading negotiations for entertainment and media transactions for music, television, film and literary matters. Traci also serves as general counsel to collegiate, professional and retired athletes in their individual business and philanthropic pursuits.
Locally, Bransford is a member of the Minnesota Association of Black Lawyers (MABL), Minnesota State Bar Association and the Hennepin County Bar Association. Nationally, she is also an active member of the National Bar Association, Black Entertainment & Sports Lawyers Association (BESLA), Sports Lawyers Association (SLA) and participates in programming of the Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA). She is also a member of the Thomson Reuters Institute Diversity Equity and Inclusion Advisory Board and serves on the Board of Directors of Planned Parenthood of North Central States. Bransford was named a 2020 "Notable Women in Law" by the Twin Cities Business Magazine and was recognized by Chambers for the 2020 Diversity & Inclusion Award Short List - "Diversity & Inclusion Lawyer of the Year". Bransford is consistently recognized by the Minnesota State Bar for her Pro Bono service to the legal profession. Bransford frequently speaks at colleges and universities, continuing legal education seminars, entertainment and sports-related events in the Twin Cities and across the country.
