Traci Bransford Selected as Minnesota Lawyer D&I Award Honoree
Stinson LLP is excited to announce that Partner Traci Bransford is being recognized as a 2019 Diversity and Inclusion Award honoree by Minnesota Lawyer. Honorees, chosen by an independent panel, will be recognized at an awards ceremony on October 10 at the Minneapolis Institute of Art.
For the past three years, the publication has honored members of the legal community who have made a significant impact with respect to D&I in their organizations and in the greater community.
Bransford has been involved with diversity, inclusion and equity work at Stinson, co-chairing the firm's employee resource group for attorneys of color and serving as a mentor to attorneys of color at the firm and beyond, and to many local law students who seek Bransford's advice and guidance. Locally, Bransford is a member of the Minnesota Association of Black Lawyers (MABL), is a mentor for the University of St. Thomas School of Law Externship Program where she mentors a student of color, and sits on the Mitchell Hamline Gateway to Legal Education Advisory Board. She is also a member of the Minnesota Women's Economic Roundtable and serves on the board of directors for VocalEssence.
Nationally, Bransford is an active member of the National Bar Association, Black Entertainment & Sports Lawyers Association, and is involved in the Minority Corporate Counsel Association. She is also an advisory board member for the Thomson Reuters Next Gen Leadership: Advancing Lawyers of Color initiative. Bransford frequently speaks at colleges and universities, and entertainment and sports-related events in the Twin Cities and across the country.
"We are incredibly grateful for all that Traci has done within the firm and in the broader community to further diversity and inclusion," said Ann Jenrette-Thomas, Stinson's chief diversity and inclusion officer. "She truly uplifts her peers in the legal community and has made an extensive impact in the D&I space both locally and nationally."
In her practice, Bransford has negotiated multimillion dollar entertainment agreements with worldwide entertainment companies. She serves as general counsel to her clients including professional athletes, recording artists, independent record companies, authors, producers, actors, managers, and film and television production companies.
