Todd Martin Joins Stinson Leonard Street's Health Law and Insurance Group

Oct. 17, 2016—Stinson Leonard Street LLP is pleased to announce that Todd Martin has joined the firm's Health Law and Insurance practice groups as a partner. He will practice in Madison, Wisconsin.

Martin has more than 20 years of experience working with insurers, third party administrators, brokers and others in the areas of insurance regulation, transactions, and governance. This includes formations, mergers and acquisitions and liquidations. He also advocates for clients with state and federal agencies, including state departments of insurance, and helps clients navigate a complex regulatory environment.

Martin has been instrumental in advising clients on the Affordable Care Act. He has done extensive work with a variety of health plan structures including multiple employer welfare arrangements, health cooperatives, VEBAs, bundled self-funded plans, and PEOs. He also advises clients on health and welfare employee benefits compliance issues arising under ERISA, COBRA and HIPAA. 

Martin has provided legal services to many fraternal benefit societies across the U.S. and serves as outside counsel to the fraternal trade association, the American Fraternal Alliance. He has been a leader in governance improvement, including providing training to boards of directors and executives, and provided advice on a wide range of fraternal and insurance issues.

Martin is co-chair of the Wisconsin State Bar's Insurance and Member Benefits Committee. He earned his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin.
