Susan Ebner Quoted in Inside Defense Article on U.S. Navy's New Rule Penalizing Contractors for Poor Cybersecurity

Stinson LLP Partner Susan Warshaw Ebner was quoted in a recent Inside Defense article on a newly published rule issued by the U.S. Navy, which could financially penalize contractors for not meeting certain cybersecurity standards. A recent audit by the Department of Defense shows that many defense contractors have struggled to implement crucial cybersecurity controls, and the Department has been slow to enforce the standards.

Susan shared that the new rule will likely compel contractors to report and resolve deficiencies, rather than punish them for less-than-perfect cybersecurity.

Susan represents businesses and nonprofits on a broad spectrum of government contract and compliance matters, including bid protests, cyber security and supply chain risk, compliance program development and training, audits, investigations, claims, and dispute resolution. She also counsels clients on federal research and development-related matters, including small business innovation research, other transactions, technology investment agreements, cooperative agreements and grants.
