Stinson Leonard Street's Banking M&A Practice Retains High National Ranking in Q2

Press Release
08.01.2018

Stinson Leonard Street LLP is among the top legal advisors in the United States for bank mergers and acquisitions.

The firm ended 2017 ranked in the top 10 for total volume of bank deals by SNL Financial and started the first quarter of 2018 by working on more bank mergers and acquisitions than any other legal advisor in the United States, according to statistics published by S&P Global.

In the second quarter of 2018, S&P Global noted that Stinson added three more deals to its yearly total, which gives the firm nine for the year and places it in a tie for the second most deals among all mergers and acquisitions legal advisors in the country. The quarterly and annual rankings are compiled using transactions involving attorneys in the firm's banking and financial services division.

"There’s a spike in M&A activity right now, and we’re fortunate to be earning a fair share of the work," said Adam Maier, co-chair of the firm's banking and financial services division. “As always, we focus on our clients’ specific goals, including both consolidation and expansion, resulting in productive, long-term relationships. We’re excited to see where this strong economy will take our clients over the next year or so.”

Stinson attorneys assist clients with mergers and acquisitions, regulatory matters, consumer finance, payment systems and FinTech, commercial lending, and creditors’ rights issues. The firm's clients include publicly held and privately owned banks, bank holding companies, financial holding companies, savings banks, specialty finance companies, mortgage bankers/brokers, REITs, loan servicing companies, securities broker/dealers, investment advisors, insurance companies and insurance agencies.
