Stinson Leonard Street Represents First Capital West Bankshares in its Acquisition by Sturm Financial Group
Stinson Leonard Street represented First Capital West Bankshares, Inc. (FCWB) in a transaction with Sturm Financial Group, Inc. (SFG) in which SFG will acquire FCWB and merge their respective banks, ANB Bank and Capital West Bank. The acquisition, subject to regulatory and shareholder approval, is expected to close during the second half of 2014, at which time the name of the combined bank will be ANB Bank.
Established in 1964, Capital West Bank, the wholly owned subsidiary of FCWB, is headquartered in Laramie, Wyo. and operates 3 branches in Laramie and Cheyenne, Wyo. and Fort Collins, Colo.
ANB Bank is the subsidiary of SFG, which is headquartered in Denver, with 34 branches within 17 counties in the Colorado, Kansas and Wyoming markets. SFG had $2.1 billion in total assets, $812.8 million in gross loans, and $1.7 billion in total deposits as of 3/31/2014.
Upon completion of the deal, the combined organization is expected to have $2.3 billion in total assets, $921.1 million in gross loans, and $1.9 billion in total deposits as of 3/31/2014. The combined organization is expected to rank in the top 6% of banks nationwide by total assets.
