Stinson Leonard Street Attorney Scott Filmore Elected ACTEC Fellow
(St. Louis)--Stinson Leonard Street attorney Scott Filmore was recently elected a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Council (ACTEC).
ACTEC is a nonprofit association of more than 2,600 trust and estate lawyers in the United States and Canada. All members have made substantial contributions to the law and are elected to the College by demonstrating the highest level of integrity, commitment to the profession, competence and experience as trust and estate counselors.
Fellows are nominated by other Fellows in their geographic area and are elected by the membership at large. Fellows are selected on the basis of professional reputation and ability in the fields of trusts and estates and on the basis of having made substantial contributions to these fields through lecturing, writing, teaching and bar activities. Candidates for
election must have at least 10 years in active private practice of probate and trust law or estate planning.
Filmore practices in the firm’s St. Louis office in estate planning, trust and estate administration, and trust and estate-related litigation. He represents both individuals and businesses in trust and estate matters in federal and state law. He uses his knowledge and experience to help clients structure and carry out plans to transfer wealth and to defend trust and estate fiduciaries in the execution of their duties and powers.
